For many people who have embarked on the brave journey to get fit, losing weight on the stomach and hips is probably one of the biggest hurdles. This area of your body retains visceral fat, which is the equivalent of the last reservoir of the bodies stored energy. Therefore this is energy that the body does not give up easily or willingly.
Plank is an excellent exercise to work on that area of your body. This is because it works out all of the muscles in this area including the rectus abdomens or the “six-pack muscles” you can see, transverse abdominus, internal and external obliques, hips, and back.
Plank is also a short exercise and need not be done for more than five minutes in a day. Therefore this is five mins to a great looking abdomen, hips and hopefully a six pack ab, something that we would only hear about or see occasionally in magazines at the doctors waiting room.
