Curcumin

I don’t know if the age of artificial intelligence is upon us yet. However, there is little doubt that the age of lifestyle diseases is well upon us. Most people world over now suffer from diseases caused by diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, auto-immune diseases or the consequences of one of the above. A significant number of these diseases including those that you would never associate with lifestyle disease including arthritis, blood pressure, acidity, headaches, bronchial asthma, osteoporosis, etc. have the same underlying cause. A poor way of life.

It would be trite to imagine that there is a magic bullet to solve for all of them. Of course, improving your lifestyle is certainly one. After; perhaps the most important thing you can do is make curcumin a part of your daily lifestyle. Turmeric contains curcumin. Turmeric is the same yellow spice that Indians use that turns their food yellow. It has an astonishing range of medical benefits. To be useful, it has to be used in its raw form, instead of the readily available powder. Combined with pepper and a minimal amount of fresh unsaturated oil, which improves its bioavailability, curcumin can modulate a large number of your genes. It does this by inserting itself into the cell membrane (usually impermeable to most foreign objects). Once inside it can change the physical properties of the membrane itself.

Curcumin also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. It does this by inhibiting primarily COX2 and 5-LOX two enzymes associated with the cause of inflammation. Perhaps the most vital benefit is in its ability to prevent or reduce the effects of almost all types of cancer. Also, because of its unique properties, it heals people with diabetic symptoms and cardiovascular symptoms. Truly a magic bullet if ever there was one.
