Artificial Blood

Blood, about seven percent of your body weight, is a fluid that delivers necessary substances such as oxygen and nutrients and evacuates metabolic waste away from the same cells. Blood is circulated through your body using blood vessels by the pumping action of your heart. Blood also serves a critical function in inhaling the oxygen ingested through your lungs and your veins are used to exhale carbon dioxide from your body. Blood is therefore essential for you.

The quality of your blood is an important determinant of your overall health and can result in numerous diseases with degeneration. Therefore, the notion that your body could function on artificial blood is exciting to say the least. Currently science is experimenting with Perfluorocarbon based and Hemoglobin based blood substitutes which are in clinical trials. Over time, it is believed that you can marry genetics and artificial blood to inject a person with the quality of blood comprising the minerals and vitamins required to heal almost anything. Obviously, any blood cells that are damaged can simply be replaced with better quality blood cells. The impact of this is staggering. In theory, you can stop worry about your cholesterol, free radicals, oxidation, stress and what you eat. You can even stop worrying about lineage and whether you are royalty or not.

While disease occurs in various parts of your body, most experts would agree that blood plays a vital role in causing or preventing the disease. Artificial blood over time would virtually eliminate all blood related disease. In 1900 the average global human age was just 31 and has increased to 67 due to science. Futurists are calling out a world where we live to be 500 and maybe even live forever. If we ever get there, artificial blood will play a vital role in that journey.
